Chapter 12

Lincoln’s heartbeat accelerated as he followed Eveline inside the room and closed the door, the click of the lock inordinately loud in the tense silence.

When Barnaby had given him the black and gold VIP card he’d managed to wrangle out of Eveline’s assistant for the evening and told him about the unique space on the fourth floor, Lincoln’s curiosity had been instantly aroused. He slipped the keycard in his jacket and studied the chamber they’d entered. A thrill rushed through him.

It had been the right decision to bring Eveline here.

Like the rest of Le Secret, the playroom was elegantly decorated in rich colors that highlighted its distinctive purpose and was equipped with top of the range luxury tools.

To the left was an orange spanking bench and a black mesh love swing tied to suspension bars. To the right, a beautiful green Victorian cast iron bathtub took pride position on the polished oak floor, next to a tall, leather-cushion padded restraining cross and a shelf stand carrying a variety of bottles, boxes, jars, and bath towels.

Oversized mirrors lined the soundproof, velvet-paneled walls and ceiling in strategic positions, most of them angled toward the playroom’s showpiece.

Dominating the chamber was a raised platform. A king-size, black leather bondage bed with a purple studded headboard stood on it, the gold-colored metal restraints on the posts gleaming under the muted glow of the chandelier above it. Hanging off rows of stylish hooks on either side of the bed were a selection of metal, wood, leather, silk, and rope playthings designed for a Dom to restrain and stimulate a sub.

Lincoln hadn’t lied to Eveline when he told her he had some experience with BDSM. Granted it’d been on the light side and he’d only been comfortable with the D/s part of that equation. The sexual partner who’d introduced him to it was an über-confident, A-list movie star with several awards to her name. The fact that she craved domination during sex had come as a surprise to Lincoln initially. Although it wasn’t his usual kink, he’d enjoyed his time in the actress’s playroom and had come away with a deeper understanding of what turned him on.

The only thing he’d been able to think of since he’d learned of the presence of a playroom in Le Secret was how fast he could get Eveline in it.

Lincoln’s gaze settled on the back of Eveline’s head where she stood motionless a few feet ahead of him, her clutch purse gripped tightly in her right hand. He glanced at a mirror ahead and to the right and caught sight of her reflection.

His breath locked in his throat. If what he was reading on Eveline’s flushed face was correct, she was as turned on by this as he was. Lincoln knew he’d taken a heavy risk bringing Eveline here. This was pushing the boundaries of the agreement they’d come to a few days ago to its limits and he’d half expected her to refuse to even set foot in the room.
